Listed on the National Historic Register, Petersburg Began in 1814
The lovely, historic town of Petersburg was founded in 1814 and incorporated in 1837. Today the town surrounds the town square where Tennessee State Route 130 and Tennessee State Route 129 intersect.
U.S. Route 431 crosses the western part of Petersburg and connects the town with Fayetteville and Lewisburg. The town lies partly within Lincoln County and partly within Marshall County and had a population of 528 in the 2020 Census.
